First Light Foods is an innovative grass-fed Meat Company based in Hawke’s Bay. We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our business to manage one of our fastest growing regions and to provide regional leadership in the roll-out of First Light’s ‘Growers Manual’ including facilitation, training and support for farmer suppliers through to implementation.
The Growers Manual is First Light’s industry leading quality assurance programme designed to meet high-value market attributes to deliver the best grass-fed beef in the world at premium prices.
This role involves prospecting, developing and maintaining strong relationships with current and new suppliers, the monitoring and management of Wagyu cattle and the delivery of in-specification prime cattle to a processing timetable.
We are seeking someone who can demonstrate the following:
• Livestock and farming experience
• A background experience in environmental and/or quality assurance implementation
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Great planning and organisational skills
• Confidence and networks to attract new suppliers
• An ability to build relationships across the business
• Excellent record keeping and proficiency with Excel / Weighing and EID equipment and farm technology
The role requires travel throughout the lower and wider South Island. Ideally you will be centrally located in the Otago/Southland area. A vehicle and competitive salary package commensurate with knowledge and experience will be offered to the successful candidate.
This role provides the ideal platform for a capable applicant to gain a valuable insight into the First Light Foods Supply Chain business along with significant opportunities for advancement within an industry leading Agri-business.
