Maintenance Engineer / Service Technician

Job Description

Our engineering machinery sales organisation has two positions available. An Engineering Machinery Technician and a CNC Technician. Both roles are based from our Christchurch branch.

We are looking for a candidates who are a quick learner, with engineering or automotive experience as well as a keen eye and attention to detail. The following qualities are also required:
• Mechanical competence
• Can easily grasp technical concepts
• Hydraulic, electrical or CNC experience would be an advantage
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage workload and priorities.
• Motivated personality
• High quality standards

This position will cover a wide range of duties including:
• Mechanical repairs to engineering type machinery
• Presentation of machines
• Pre-delivery testing and quality control
• Troubleshooting
• Quality assurance documentation

The two roles have similarities, however the general differences are:
The Engineering Machinery Technician / Service Engineer Role is workshop based, working on new machines pre-sale
The CNC Technician has an onsite training and service role and is as above but focuses on the more technical machines and follows on with customer site based installations, commissioning, training and after sales service.
