FIL Engineers is a structural engineering consultancy committed to delivering high quality work in the South Island.
o Based in Christchurch, our professional, mid-sized team offers cost effective solutions for residential and commercial customers.
o We work on projects which range from small residential alterations to complete design of complex residential and strengthening projects.
o The Structural Engineer will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible for delivering high quality structural analysis and design support for the business.
o The role will include the compilation of design reports, earthquake assessment reports and construction monitoring.
o Importantly you will be trained and mentored by a highly experienced CPEng engineer who has decades of experience in the industry.
o Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be primarily focused on providing quality analysis and modelling of structural design solutions.
o Manage and build professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels including project teams, Councils, external consultants and contractors.
o Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously at various stages of development.
o Support the project teams in achieving milestones while ensuring quality and budget is maintained.
o This is a key position in the company with responsibilities that impact the ongoing success of the business.
o It is expected that the Structural Engineer will maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism, have plenty of energy and be a real team player.
Competencies – Skills and Experience
o 2-3 yrs experience in the NZ environment is essential
o Excellent written oral & communications skills
o Profivient in the use of REVIT / ETABS / AutoCAD and other NZ design software
o Proven experience in working in a close-knit team environment
