We need a motivated trainee to join our New Car Sales team at Honda Cars Newmarket, who is keen to develop a career in vehicle sales.

About the Sales Trainee role

We’ll teach you how to create relationships with customers and successfully manage a customer base. Over time you’ll gather valuable sales techniques through on-the-job training, plus you’ll also get sales support and administrative experience. The aim is to arm you with the necessary skills for you to be able to move into a sales position.

Experience required

You’ll need to have at least 2 years sales experience, preferably in a new business role, and a strong passion to meet targets and succeed in a competitive environment. Outbound telemarketing experience will offer a significant advantage, as a key part of the role is to actively prospect new and repeat business.

Responsibilities of the role:

Telemarketing the Honda customer base to book test drives is a key part of the role, as this prospecting activity generates repeat business opportunities and referrals. You’ll be set test drive targets and will be able to earn commission for achieving them.
You’ll also be expected to follow up on leads and convert them into sales as well as supporting the sales team and following up with customers’ vehicle orders, paperwork and deliveries.


Who are we looking for?

We need a goal driven candidate who enjoys being recognised and rewarded for their performance. You may have participated in competitive environments (i.e. sports, music, etc.) and understand the discipline and commitment that makes you successful in these pursuits. You’ll have great communication skills and an ability to build rapport with people from all walks of life. Also required is drive and energy and not giving up at the first hurdle. Up to date computer skills are a necessity.

Rostered weekend work may be required with days off during the week in lieu. A current NZ Driver’s License (Restricted or Full) is required.
