Beekeepers and Team Leader- Gisborne/East Coast

Job Description

We are looking for beekeepers to add to our employee base in Gisborne, The East Coast is a family friendly area, with affordable living and plenty of activities available for all ages.

You will be working closely within a small team and will travel around the East Coast. Ideally, we are wanting someone with a minimum of 6 months experience (bee keeper) and 3 years experience (Team Leader). a DECA qualification (or be able to identify bee diseases), clean drivers licence and can pass a drug test. This position will suit some self-motivated with an excellent sense of humour and easy-going nature. The hours of work are normally 40hrs per week but need to be available to work additional seasonal hours.

What your responsibilities will be:
• Hive feeding, splitting, re-queening, disease control and record keeping
• Follow all health and safety procedures
• Moving hives to and from seasonal sites
• Harvesting honey
• Separating hives
• Other seasonal responsibilities

• Lead a team (Team leader role)
