We’re looking for a hands-on leader to support our Harvest Managers during our busy blueberry harvest season. It’s not a job you can learn overnight, so we want a talented, loyal employee with a strong work ethic and commitment to our Company to support our ongoing expansion.
You don’t need to have qualifications or years of experience, just a passion for the horticulture industry and the drive to make this your career. Management experience and blueberry/horticulture exposure is an advantage but not essential.
You’ll learn about blueberry harvest from the ground up so you can develop a thorough understanding of the business from a production perspective. Blueberry harvest requires strong planning by considering the current market conditions and packhouse requirements, fruit availability and quality, pickers’ performance, weather conditions and the day-to-day logistics to name a few.
The ideal candidate will be customer service focused and have no trouble relating to a range of personalities. They’ll be able to trouble-shoot, be technology savvy and work under pressure. Summer is the peak time of the season which requires flexibility and dedication, so you’ll be happy to save your down time for the Winter.
