Job Description

Youngman Richardson & Co are a privately owned,100% Kiwi business who has been importing and supplying “best of breed” products to the hire and construction sectors for over 35 years. This longevity has been due to great customer service, the outstanding quality of our products and the way in which we conduct business.

Part of our quality offering is from the Husqvarna Construction Product Portfolio and we are now looking for a Product Manage to be the “Champion” for this range.

The deliverables on this role are around maximising sales, revenue, market share and profit while providing our customers with products that both benefit and add value to their businesses.

It’s all about:
•Identifying what our customers need – using market research and market data.
•Appraising new ideas and concepts for introduction into the NZ market.
•Assessing the strengths and weaknesses of competitive products.
•Working with our customers and sales team in evaluating our service delivery.
•Doing long and short term sales forecasts.
•Having the finger on the pulse on inventory levels and delivery times.
•Identifying untapped niche markets.
•Preparing ROI analysis of products that could deliver to these markets.
•Presenting new products to the sales team and identifying USP’s and sales strategies.
•Providing input into product pricing.
•Analysing the right market conditions for adding new products.
•Representing some products in the range to the specifier market.

The role is a national one and will involve travel outside the office (1 in 4) to visit our sales teams and customers around NZ. On these trips you will be sharing market intel with our sales people and conducting training with our customers. With time, there will also be some international travel.

Only candidates with experience gained from a professional diamond tool company (in the construction sector), are likely to have the right technical expertise and skills for this role. You’ll have a keen analytical mind, coupled with strong commercial nous and will enjoy being at the cutting edge of this product sector.
