We are seeking a full time Maintenance person to join our team at Maida Vale Retirement Village. Monday - Friday 8.30 am - 5.00 pm and on call every second weekend.
Immediate start - orientation will be given.
You will be mature, hard working, and a reliable handy person. General labour skills are a must. You will be able to work independently and also in a team.
YOU WILL BE WONDERFUL WITH OUR ELDERLY RESIDENTS!!
> Perform maintenance service or repairs in one or more skill areas including minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, machine servicing, electrical testing and vehicle servicing.
> Performs tasks but not limited to changing light bulbs, changing filters, changing locks on doors, minor decorative maintenance, clean & lubricate equipment and other tasks not requiring a licensed skilled trades person.
> Identifies and corrects unsafe working conditions with management oversight.
> Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
> Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
> May be required to assist with special events.
> May be required to utilise basic cleaning and other chemicals.
> May coordinate work activities of General Maintenance employees.
> Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
> You will perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
> First aid certificate compulsory & full time drivers licence. (Bus licence would be an advantage)
2 or more years of related experience.
> Ability to present self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
> Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
> Ability to maintain a professional relationship with all co workers, supervisors, managers, and our elderly residents.
> Ability to provide clear directions and respond accordingly to employers.
> Must have basic phone and computer skills.
> Excellent attention to detail.
> Be able to work under pressure & use initiative and have common sense!
> Excellent oral and written communication skills.
> Ability to work well alone and in a team.
